Sonaselection India IPO Opens: GMP Indicates 7% Listing Premium

Sonaselection India Ltd. has opened its initial public offering (IPO) today, with a price band set between ₹94 and ₹99 per share. Market buzz in the grey market suggests a grey market premium (GMP) of around 7%, signaling positive investor sentiment and potential for a listing premium when the shares debut on the stock exchanges.

IPO Details and Timeline

The company’s IPO is open for subscription from September 17 to September 21, 2026. The issue size is approximately ₹141.57 crore with shares being offered primarily through a book-building process. The lot size for retail investors is fixed at 150 shares, implying a minimum investment of around ₹14,850 at the upper price band.

Allocation to different investor categories includes 35% reserved for retail investors, about 30% for anchor investors, 20% for qualified institutional buyers (QIBs), and the remaining shares divided among non-institutional investors.

The allotment process is scheduled for September 22, with refunds and credit of shares anticipated by September 23. The stock is expected to begin trading on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on September 24, 2026.

Company Background and Business Model

Incorporated in February 2022, Sonaselection India entered the textile processing industry by acquiring an existing unit and has since evolved into a fully integrated fabric manufacturing company. Its operations include bleaching, dyeing, finishing, and producing a range of textiles including 100% cotton and cotton-lycra stretch fabrics. The company’s manufacturing facility in Bhilwara, Rajasthan, boasts an operational capacity of 82.44 million meters per annum.

The company has grown rapidly by transitioning from job-work to full-fledged manufacturing, augmented by its subsidiary Sionnah Enterprises that added ready-made garments manufacturing during fiscal 2026. This strategic expansion positions Sonaselection India as a key player in textile processing and fabric production.

Financial Performance Highlights

Sonaselection India has demonstrated strong revenue growth over recent years, increasing from ₹120.98 crore in FY24 to an estimated ₹516.95 crore by FY26. Net profit also rose from ₹13.1 crore in FY24 to ₹34.02 crore in FY26, despite some margin pressures as the company scales.

The EBITDA margin showed some contraction, slipping from 23.55% in FY24 to 16.40% in FY26, indicating cost structures have increased even as revenues surged. Investors should weigh this alongside the robust top-line growth and improving net profitability.

Why the 7% GMP Matters

The Grey Market Premium of 7% signals that informal market participants expect the stock to trade at a premium when listed, reflecting confidence in Sonaselection’s growth prospects and market positioning. While GMP offers a sentiment snapshot and potential for listing gains, actual market performance on listing day can vary with broader market conditions.

What Investors Should Monitor Next

Investors considering participation in the Sonaselection India IPO should closely watch the subscription levels across investor categories during the bidding period. High subscription rates could reinforce the positive GMP indication.

Additionally, monitoring the final allotment details and listing day price action will provide insights into market reception. From a fundamental perspective, keeping an eye on the company’s margin trends and capacity utilization in the coming quarters can reveal how well Sonaselection manages growth and cost efficiency simultaneously.

Global textile sector dynamics and raw material cost fluctuations may also impact the company’s performance, so staying updated on industry developments is advisable.

Overall, the opening of Sonaselection India’s IPO marks an important milestone for the firm’s capital markets journey, presenting potential opportunities and risks that investors should evaluate carefully.
